We made it to the Shell New Energy Challenge Shortlist!
Clean Power Hydrogen (CPH2) Group Limited are excited to announce that they have been shortlisted in the Shell New Energy Challenge 2019.
Now in its 4th year, the New Energy Challenge is a joint initiative between Shell, Rockstart , YES!Delft and Get in the Ring. The competition is open to entrepreneurs from Europe and Israel and this year consists of two different tracks; one for start-ups and one for scale-up companies who can change the future of energy by developing new and innovative solutions.
CPH2’s proposal is for local production of hydrogen using renewable energy produced using unique (non-membrane electrolyser) technology with cryogenic separation of mixed gases. This solution was entered in the scale-up category of which CPH2 is the only producer of hydrogen to be shortlisted.
The next stage is the interview sessions which take place in August. Finalists are notified in September and the winners of both categories will be selected in October. They will be presented with their prize of €100,000 towards proof of concept or designing a pilot project with Shell Ventures and rolling-out the technology with Shell’s Retail business.
CPH2’s Business Development Director Rodney Brook stated that “for such a young company we have put a lot of effort into developing our technology and being shortlisted is a huge achievement for the CPH2 team”.
The global focus in the energy business is to reduce CO2 emissions and to make best use of renewable energy sources for our future needs. There is a clear role for hydrogen in this endeavour and, working collaboratively alongside some of the best mentors and coaches provided by Shell, this initiative helps bring game-changing technologies to the marketplace quicker.
